DC’s springtime cherry blossom blooms are world renowned. little did i know that the whole ‘big deal’ was specifically about the ones lining the tidal basin (which sits in between the jefferson memorial, FDR memorial, george mason memorial and, in the background, the washington monument). after making this revelation, i rushed down to get some pics. sadly, they had already peaked… OOPS!
still, it was a lovely spot to watch the sunset:
