the next day we set off driving thru lake mead on our way back to utah. WOW! i had never been before... what an amazing place. again - felt like i was on the moon, but much more colorful. ( i guess? why do i keep acting like i know what the moon is like???)
so much color variation in the rock:
we stopped at a spring that was a little oasis of palms and crystal clear pools. but when we got out of the car and looked back - all we could think about was how to get down to that aqua water!! almost felt like we were in cabo... cant believe how close this is to vegas!
so, we made it down there. and it was gorgeous. a little muddy for my tastes - but bijou was right at home ...
have to say i was completely surprised by how amazing lake mead was. another spot to return to some day...
